Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before (and after) you order.

Why are your games so cheap?

Two reasons, both honest ones:

1. We buy imperfect copies, not curated "shelf-ready" stock. Most of our games are sourced locally, as-is — that means a case with a crack, a worn label, or a scuffed disc is common. We clean every game up as best we can, but unless a listing is graded Mint or Very Good, assume there's some minor cosmetic wear on the case, manual, or disc. We're not paying a premium to make everything look showroom-perfect, and we pass that savings on.

2. We're not paying eBay-style selling fees. Marketplaces like eBay typically take a real cut of every sale. Selling directly means we're not padding our prices to cover that — see our 1-Up on Retail Pricing badge on the shop page.

Every price is also checked against real market data before it's listed, so "cheap" means genuinely below typical market and retail value — not a guess.

How does ordering work?

Browse the shop and add as many games as you like to your cart — you only pay once, at checkout, no matter how many items you buy. When you're ready, click Checkout with Stripe and complete payment securely on Stripe's checkout page.

No account or sign-up is required to order.

What do the condition and "includes" labels mean?

Every listing shows two things: what's included in the box, and the physical condition of the disc or cartridge.

Condition refers to the disc or cartridge only — not the case or manual, which can be in different shape (a Mint disc can still ship in a cracked case). Gem Mint is the one exception: it means every included piece — disc, case, and manual — is mint.

You can see the full definitions any time by clicking the small info icon next to a listing, or on our full grading guide page.

Every game is tested and confirmed working before it's listed for sale.

About resurfacing: we only resurface a disc when it does not play correctly, in order to get it working. If a game already tests as working, we don't resurface it — even if it isn't Mint or Very Good condition. So light scratches on a "Light Scratches" or "Good" listing are cosmetic only; the game has already been confirmed to play properly as-is.

What's the Classic Bundle? What are Collector's Picks?

Classic Bundle games are budget-friendly classic titles, tested and working, priced individually at $6 — but pick any 3 for $15 and the discount applies automatically at checkout.

Collector's Picks are rarer, harder-to-find games for collectors — priced individually with no bundle discount. Includes and condition still vary by listing, so check each game's details.

How fast do you ship, and where?

Orders typically ship within 1–3 business days of purchase. You'll be able to see the shipping address you provided on your Stripe receipt.

We currently ship within the United States only.

Orders over $50 qualify for free shipping, applied automatically at checkout.

What if a game doesn't work, or I want a refund?

Every game is tested and confirmed working before it's listed. If something arrives defective or not as described, contact us and we'll work with you to make it right — including a refund if the item is confirmed defective.

If a refund is issued for a defective item, the buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.

How do I pay, and is it secure?

We accept credit and debit cards through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor — the highest certification level in the industry. Your card details are entered directly on Stripe's secure checkout page and never touch our servers.

See our Privacy Policy for more on how your information is handled.
